Well, the race was held under the scorching sun again today. It was as hot as midsummer in Japan, and I couldn't stop sweating 🥵 even though I was working as a staff member.
In the morning, when I asked for help in arranging electricity, "Excuse me, can you do something for electricity?" the local people graciously responded to my request, and it was one of those moments that truly touched me with Swiss kindness and warmth. This bicycle race is made possible by the involvement of many people, including traffic controllers, bike leaders, and support staff. As a staff member, my heart was filled with excitement at the scene of the race.
Today's results (Stage 2)
- Winner: A. Elise Chabbey (FDJ-Suez) won her first WorldTour victory in her home country of Switzerland! She won a two-man sprint with Urška Žigart in the summit finish at La Tzoumaz. (Cyclingnews)
- 2nd: The Urschka Zigato (AG Insurance-Soudal) was narrowly defeated, but her run put her in the overall leader's jersey. (Cyclingnews)

Highlights of tomorrow's final stage (Stage 3)
Tomorrow is a dramatic course with many ups and downs to and from Aigle (Aigle → Aigle). Zigato is the leader in the overall race, but there are only a few places left. We will be watching to see if Chabet can keep up the momentum of his victory, which he is happy to have won so close to his home.
As a local staff member, I am excited to see that excitement again...? I am looking forward to seeing who will turn it around on the final day...! We are also looking forward to seeing who will turn the tables on the final day...!
